Micheal Peacock
Michael is a highly experienced sports performance leader with over 25 years in the sector, spanning community development, professional sport, and Olympic and Paralympic programmes. His career has seen him work across the full sporting pathway—from grassroots engagement in underrepresented communities to supporting elite athletes on the world stage through roles with multiple National Governing Bodies (NGBs).
He currently serves as Head of Performance Services at Cardiff Metropolitan University, where he leads a team of practitioners supporting over 400 performance pathway athletes. In this role, Michael works in strategic partnership with several NGBs and oversees athlete development initiatives for the Welsh Rugby Union’s Women and Girls Player Development Centre, as well as Cardiff Met FC’s FAW Category A academies for both boys and girls.
Michael is a strong advocate for equity in sport and is driving key initiatives such as ArcHER and LeadHERship (Team Wales), which aim to create inclusive and empowering environments for women in sport. His leadership is marked by a commitment to long-term athlete development, practitioner growth, and building high-performing, inclusive systems within sport.
