Our Story

Launching at the Senedd in 2019, the Watch Her Go campaign highlighted the huge potential of women in sport in Wales that was not being realised.

Some of the biggest voices in Welsh sport and beyond were present and committed to help making the change needed.

The Pandemic and development of Cymru Women’s Sport

Due to the pandemic, the Amdani movement was unfortunately unable to grow. Through conversations with the original organisers, slowly the development of Cymru Women’s Sport came together under three clear pillars to support change for women in sport in Wales.

The Three Pillars

Connect. We will continue to develop a regular series of events which give the opportunity for people working in or involved in women’s sport to network with a purpose.

Celebrate. Through our events and communications platforms we will showcase women in sport and highlight the gap in opportunity for women and girls.

Advocate. We will apply for charitable status and become the voice for women and girls in sport in Wales.

We launched in Cardiff on February 9 2024.
