We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our board of trustees and help drive lasting change for women’s sport in Wales.
Who We Are
Cymru Women’s Sport is a newly formed organisation committed to advancing women, in all roles of sport in Wales. We believe that sport has the power to empower and transform, and also believe a more fair and equitable system of sport – fully inclusive of women and girls is possible.
We work towards our mission by advocating for change amongst key stakeholders, celebrating success, and creating connections between allies – those working in sport, and those who would like to.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for trustees who bring varied perspectives, skills, and experience to our board.
A passion for women’s sport, commitment to our mission and an understanding of the challenges to equality for women in sport in Wales are the most important things you could bring.
To help Cymru Women’s Sport grow, some trustees on the board may also have:
A good understanding of the role of a trustee.
Experience of the third sector and governance models utilised by the Charities Commission.
Experience in areas such as finance, marketing, or fundraising.
Experience using communications and advocacy campaigns to challenge organisational and individual behaviours.
Experience creating networks that are representative of Wales, through events, digital channels, and other varied means.
Experience using a range of tools to champion and celebrate success.
Lived experience of communities across Wales not usually catered for by mainstream organisations.

The Role
Time Commitment
Trustees will be expected to attend one meeting a month for 2024, and then at least four meetings a year for the duration of their appointment. Meetings may be face to face, virtual or hybrid – these will be flexible and accommodating to meet the needs of all individual trustees. In addition to this, there may be online and face to face networking events which would be beneficial to attend. Trustees will also be involved in bespoke project work, based on their experience and interests as the charity grows.
Term of Appointment
Appointments will be made for a maximum of four years.
Remuneration
This is a voluntary position.
