Ria Burrage-Male
Ria is a seasoned leader and former international athlete who has transitioned into the leadership and wellness industry as the founder and director of KIBO, a mindset and wellness business that prioritises the human being first. The name KIBO, which means “Hope,” is a heartfelt combination of her children’s names. Through KIBO, Ria offers a range of learning experiences, group coaching, and one-on-one coaching services designed to support individuals and organisations.
Her expertise spans athlete mindset, effective communication, authenticity, positive psychology, and high-performing environments. The flagship program, Eat, Sleep, Breathe, Connect, is a signature offering that empowers individuals to thrive and live more consciously. With over 20 years of diverse experiences in leadership and sports, Ria is dedicated to helping people discover their inner “KIBO” (hope) and live more intentionally.
Her impressive background includes stints as a PE teacher, coffee shop owner, door supervisor, charity director and CEO. In addition to her professional pursuits, Ria has had a storied athletic career, with 33 caps representing Wales in hockey and at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, playing football for Cardiff City Women in the Champions League playoffs, and winning the WCKA club kickboxing championship. She has also explored white-collar boxing, runs 10Ks, and enjoys playing golf.
