Emma Henwood
Emma is a Public Affairs and Communications professional with a master’s degree in Human Rights who’s worked in and around the Senedd for the last twelve years in campaigning and advocacy roles for charities and public bodies.
Some of Emma’s proudest achievements have been campaigning for changes that have a day to day impact on people’s lives such as the successful inclusion of CPR on the new Welsh curriculum, for which she also won two PRCA Dare Awards in 2020, and the inclusion of accessibility standards for blind and partially sighted people in both enhanced Welsh bus contracts and the Welsh Train franchise.
Since 2020, Emma has worked for Sport Wales and is passionate about the benefits of sport to communities across Wales and helped to set up Cymru Women’s Sport to give a focused Welsh voice to the issues facing women in sport in Wales. She is also a Non-Executive Director of Goalball UK, a para-sport which works to empower people in the blind and partially sighted community to live enriched and independent lives while harnessing the benefits of sport and physical activity.
