Our Brand – a strong connection with Welsh heritage in a modern way.
You may have noticed Cymru Women’s Sport’s brand evolving over the past few months.
That’s all thanks to our partnership with Ryan James Studio in North Wales, whom we tasked with developing our brand identity. Building on insights shared by sports marketing students at Cardiff Metropolitan University who were asked to consider questions around Welsh identity, colours and symbols, the logo, colours and typeface have been masterfully pulled together to give us a strong brand to help us with our key mission: Changing the Game for all Women and Girls in Sport in Wales.
A key inspiration behind the brand’s colours and symbols was the beautiful Welsh tapestry blankets known as Carthen. Reflecting the patterns and colours of our landscape, the combination of slate, teal, deep orange and white provides Cymru Women’s Sport with a distinct and unique look and feel.
“Adding in their own sisterhood knot reinforces the organisation’s strong awareness of the power of human connections and the need to work with others to make change. Overall, the new brand brings the purpose and personality of Cymru Women’s Sport to life,” Ryan said.
The result is a brand identity that we believe stands proudly among Welsh companies and teams, while shining a light on our values and pillars: Ymgyrch / Advocate, Cysylltu / Connect and Dathlu / Celebrate.
